City Hall of Highland Park City

Classical Renaissance architecture's ornaments all work in a complete classical context.
By deconstructing and reframing these ornaments from this complete context, these elements express a different situation and show the potential of the reorganization of the ornament.

In this project, I try to explore how ornaments help the new civil architecture rebuild the coagulative power of a decaying post-industrial city. The design responds to the context of Highland Park City carefully with very different scale massings, all massings enclosed a courtyard which can also serve as the community gathering space.
